Many of you know the OK Chorale Cowboy trio use harmonicas in our shows.
Yesterday, at rehearsal, I discovered that my key of C instrument had lost both of the screws that hold the covers on over the reeds. I went online to several websites and they all wanted $12 for each of the two little Hohner screws! Incredible for an instrument that only costs $30.
My wife says, “Why don’t you try ACE Hardware before you spend $24, plus tax and freight? Those guys at ACE can fix anything.” So off I went to see if they could help.

I walked up to the customer service counter and “Mister Fix it,” who took a look and said, “sure we can get it done.” He not only found a compatible part, but took the time to grind down one side of the nuts so it wouldn’t scratch the chrome cover. He even reassembled my harmonica.
All that for 98 cents, but a thousand dollars’ worth of customer service and satisfaction. You gotta love a business like that!
