Allan Goldberg will present broadcasts from 1944 and 1945 when the Golden Age of Radio meets Thursday, Feb. 7.
The meeting starts at 1 p.m. at the Community Center.
Goldberg, using material from his private collection of vintage radio shows, will replay news coverage of historic global events from D-Day to VE Day, from naval and island-hopping battles to the start of the Atomic Age and VJ Day.
In addition, the presentation includes radio’s contribution as a cultural and morale-building medium with music, sports and entertainment programming that aired during these dramatic times.
Goldberg, a co-leader of the Golden Age of Radio, has had an avid interest in the early days of radio since childhood when he listened to the popular shows of the day with his family.
