Dallas Neal Shuck was born to David Everett Shuck and Edna Mae (Hoffman) Shuck March 2, 1927, in Banquo, Ind. He died April 14, 2015, in Fountain Hills at the age of 88.
Dallas was a well-respected tool-and-die maker, a patent-holding engineer, an avid cyclist and hiker and a loving husband and father. Cars were a passion, especially his Jeep, and he loved to explore deep in the mountains on four-wheel trips.
Although he denied the description “artist,” anyone who ever saw his work in metal or glass admired his creativity and workmanship.
In 1949, Dallas married Rae Mona Anderson. They settled in Marion, Ind. where they raised their son. Rae Mona passed away in 1966. He married B.J. Herche in 1973. Together, they followed Dallas’ promotions with Dana Corporation to Janesville, Wis., Goshen, Ind. and Worthington, Ohio before retiring to Fountain Hills.
Dallas was preceded in death by his only sister, Betty; and his wife, B.J. He is survived by three children, Monte (Carol) Shuck, Sidney (George) Briani, and Tracie (T.R. Loon) Tudor; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made in Dallas’ name to the American Diabetes Association.
“Then man goes out to his work, to his labor until evening” Psalm 104, verse 23.
