Daniel J. Tancredi, born Dec. 15, 1929 in Jamesburg N.J., passed away Jan. 19, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Marie, married 61 years; son, Daniel Tancredi, and his wife, Christine Tancredi; daughter, Donna Evans, and her husband, Wayne Evans; grandchildren, Thomas Evans, Danielle Evans and Frank Mazza; great- grandchildren, Zackary Anthony Evans, Alex and Victoria Lavato.

Also, siblings, Duke Tancredi (deceased), Tommy Tancredi; sisters, Josephine Farone and Barbara Scarpetti; brothers, Richard Tancredi, and wife, Pat Tancredi, John Tancredi and wife, Nancy Tancredi (deceased); lots of nieces and nephews and in-laws.

He was predeceased by his parents, Phillip and Mary Tancredi.

“Buddy,” as he loved to be called, worked for the City of New York as a sewer laborer for 30 years. They moved to Arizona from River Vale, N.J. in 1981.

In Arizona he worked for the Paradise Valley School District as a loving crossing guard for 10 years. He retired from there and joined his daughter having fun at Rio Verde Country Club for five years on the golf course in the feeder working his magic selling hot dogs; the members there just adored him.

Buddy was the most loving, caring, gentle person, no matter who he met, he left a lifetime of great memories. He will truly be missed by so many people.

Services will be at Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary on Thursday, Jan. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass will be at Church of Ascension on Friday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m.
