Dark Sky

The International Dark Sky Discovery Center is a crucial investment in Fountain Hills’ future. If our children are to gaze up in wonder at the stars, they need to be able to see them.

Long-term leadership of our current Town Council would turn us from a Dark Sky Community into a smog bowl. Our councilman says, “We don’t want to become California.” Allowing hydrocarbon, carbon monoxide, ozone and particulate matter pollution to obscure our night skies would do just that.

I would encourage our council members to read the “woke” statements of support by Schweikert, Kavanagh and Ducey at darkskycenter.org. Please don’t sabotage the great future of our town. Consider taking some cues from the aforementioned Round Earth Conservatives.
