David William Roalf

David William Roalf passed away on November 13, 2025, in Fountain Hills, AZ, at the age of 79, following a courageous journey with Parkinson’s disease. Born on January 20, 1946, in Waterloo, IA, David was the son of Marvin W. Roalf and Alice Needham Roalf of Allison, IA. He graduated from West High School and earned his degree from the University of Northern Iowa. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged at Ft. Lee, VA. Dave devoted 41 years to education as a Physical Education teacher in Prince George County, VA. He taught at schools including Walton and Harrison Elementary and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. During summers, he worked with the Prince George School System Paint Crew and later became its Coordinator. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sheila Connors; children Coletta and her husband Daniel Taylor, David Roalf and his wife Sarah, and Laura Roalf and her fiancé Vish Harypursat; grandchildren Morgan Taylor, Max Taylor, Harlan Roalf, and Josie Roalf; and his brother Edward Roalf and wife Cindy. A devoted fan of the L.A. Dodgers and San Francisco 49ers, Dave found joy in sports and community and was thrilled to see the Dodgers win back-to-back World Series. He volunteered as a baseball coach in Prince George County and enjoyed attending Arizona Spring Training games. He was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Parish in Prince George and enjoyed gardening, Bingo, jigsaw puzzles, dominos, and spending time outdoors. Dave was known for his kindness and willingness to help others. His warmth and humor left lasting impressions on those around him. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills, AZ, with a reception to follow. A Celebration of Life is planned for Spring 2026 in Prince George County, VA.
