The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale McKee Branch is teaming up with Noon and Sunset Kiwanis to once again host a “Day for Kids,” running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23.
This free local event will be hosted out of the local McKee branch and include inflatables, food, games and prizes.
Local families are encouraged by organizers to stop by and enjoy a day of fun games and exciting activities.
Along with Boys & Girls Club personnel, the event will be staffed by members of the High School Key Club, eager to help local youngsters and their parents have some fun and make some memories.
According to Branch Director Lauren Stratton, Day for Kids is a special celebration dedicated to making a difference in the lives of youngsters.
“The event is open to all families in the community; club member and non-club members alike,” Stratton added. “Any families looking to have some free family fun are encouraged to attend.”
Stratton said a special “thank you” goes out to the local Kiwanis clubs, who will be volunteering at the event on top of providing financial support.
“The Key Club from the high school will also be out in droves to help run all the carnival games,” she added.
Stratton said the local club is always excited to open its doors to the community.
“Events like this allow us to meet new families and spend time getting to know the parents of the families we already serve,” she continued. “It also gives us the opportunity to showcase our top-notch facility and all the programs we run.””
After this year’s Day for Kids, Stratton said the goal is that everyone leaves the club exhausted from a day of fun.
“I hope our families leave reminded that the club is a positive, safe place for their kids to learn and grow and that those unfamiliar with the club have a better understanding of the opportunities the club provides the youth in our community,” she said.
