The sixth annual Day of Play and Day for Kids will be staged at one location this year – the Mary Ellen and Robert McKee Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs in Fountain Hills.
The event will be held indoors from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the facility adjacent to Four Peaks Park.
The Kiwanis family in Fountain Hills and the McKee Branch are teaming up to offer the play adventure.
There will be plenty of inflatables, interactive games, face painting, free pizza and refreshments, cotton candy, popcorn and more at the fun-filled event.
The Boys & Girls Club branch facility is located on the corner of Calaveras and Del Cambre avenues, adjacent to Four Peaks Park and the former Four Peaks School location.
Besides the McKee Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Kiwanis family groups assisting with the event are the Noon Kiwanis Club, Sunset Kiwanis Club, Key Club, Builders Club and K-Kids.
There is no cost to participate.
“We invite kids of all ages to come with their parents and have a great time,” said Lauren Stratton, branch director for the Boys & Girls Club. “You don’t have to be a member or anything like that. The event is open to the entire community.”
The Fountain Hills Drug Coalition will have information there to distribute, urging parents to sign up for its Safe Homes Network.
In addition, Thrivent Financial will have its Child ID machine onsite, which provides laminated information cards to parents with vital information regarding their children, which can be used in case of an emergency.
