Day of Prayer

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 2, all across America in various locations, people will join together in prayer as they observe the National Day of Prayer. The theme this year is “Love One Another” from John 13: 34 and no one can deny we need to come against the anger, distrust and hate that seems to be spreading across this great country of ours. Every day we read of the violence that seems to now be a daily occurrence, until our hearts have become hardened and we are no longer shocked and horrified by the news.

If we are to bring this country back to the peace and strength we once enjoyed then we need – no, we must – come together in united prayer asking for forgiveness and the blessings that our Father has for those who trust in Him.

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 2, all across America in various locations, people will join together in prayer as they observe the National Day of Prayer. Every day we read of the violence that seems to now be a daily occurrence, until our hearts have become hardened and we are no longer shocked and horrified by the news.

The evil in this world is escalating and it is no longer happening in some far-off foreign country; it is here in the USA. Prayer is so important, not just a time of asking but a time also of praise and worship and thanks. We need to remember the love of Jesus, even for those who hated Him; the compassion of Jesus, even for those who crucified Him and the forgiveness of Jesus for those who turn to Him.

Please come and participate tomorrow at Fountain Park amphitheater. Free hot dogs, chips, cookies and water will be served at 5:30 p.m. and, at 6:30 p.m., the one-hour service starts, led by the Fountain Hills Christian Ministerial Association.

Come expecting God to hear our prayers, because He does. Come expecting God to answer our prayers, because He does.
