Prayer is powerful on Thursday, May 2. Christians all across America will join together in participating in the National Day of Prayer. This will be in homes, churches or out in parks and open areas. It is a time to put aside differences and come humbly before God to ask for forgiveness and mercy from our creator.
The local annual observance will again be held at the Fountain Park amphitheater with free hot dogs, chips, cookies and water served at 5:30 p.m., followed at 6:30 p.m by an hour of prayer and praise led by the Fountain Hills Christian Ministerial Association.

Prayer is so powerful, and there are few who have not at one time or another had reason to say a silent prayer when faced with danger or a difficult decision. Prayer from the heart is the most powerful weapon we possess and yet so many ignore or refuse to believe its power.
The theme this year is “Love one another, just as I have loved you,” John 13:34. That is a command, straight from God Himself, and as we celebrate Easter we see that God has proven His love for us; He gave His only son.
Thank God for the freedom we have to join together in open prayer when, in many countries, this would mean imprisonment or death. Come join with us as we pray for our country, state and community. God promises to be there!
