Plans are being made for the third annual Fountain Hills National Day of Prayer.

The National Day of Prayer theme for 2014 is “One Voice, United in Prayer.”

Everyone is invited to gather at Fountain Park amphitheater to celebrate. Attendees should bring a blanket or chair.

Enjoy complimentary food will be served from 5 to 5:45 p.m.

The program starts at 6 p.m. Boy Scout troop No. 444 will serve as Color Guard to present the colors and to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mrs. Bovinette’s second grade class from McDowell Mountain Elementary School will recite the Preamble to the Constitution and the Gettysburg Address.

Bill Montgomery, Maricopa County attorney, is the keynote speaker.

Community representatives will present prayers to focus on seven areas: government, military, media, business, education, church and family.

The theme emphasizes the need for people, together and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator, who is sovereign over all governments, authorities and men.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Fountain Brass Quintet. Curtis Whipple will be DJ and provide the sound system.
