The Chamber of Commerce has extended the deadline to participate in the Thanksgiving Day parade to Nov. 1.
As of the Chamber’s Oct. 20 breakfast meeting, only six entries had registered, said Chamber CEO/President Scott Soldat-Valenzuela.
Usually about 80 civic and business floats, church and children entries, marching and walking groups, motorized entries and equestrians participate. Santa also is at the end of the floats and marchers.

The theme for this year’s parade on Thursday, Nov. 24, is “Hollywood Holidays.”
The route begins at El Lago and Saguaro boulevards, continues north along Saguaro, west on Palisades Boulevard and south on La Montana Boulevard.
Think of all the Hollywood classic or modern films that capture the holiday spirit – Frosty, Elf and Miracle on 34th Street – and decorate your float or select costumes based on the movie, said Sharon Morgan, events manager.
Registration for Chamber members is free and can be done online at fhchamber.com.
For non-commercial, none-Chamber members, the cost is $20 and $50 for commercial entries.
Prizes will be awarded for the best presentations in several categories
Sponsors are the Town of Fountain Hills, Brokers Alliance and SRP.
The route begins at El Lago and Saguaro boulevards, continues north along Saguaro, west on Palisades Boulevard and south on La Montana Boulevard.
For the past 32 years, the event has been the only Thanksgiving Day parade west of the Mississippi River.
