Deceptive

In a recent letter, we endorsed Judy and Richard Rutkowski for Republican precinct committeeman in Golden Eagle precinct.

Since then, we received a card in the mail supporting other candidates for that office. The card looked official and appeared to be something which came from the Arizona Republican Party, with its logo and the letters “GOP” prominently displayed at the top. It had several names on it, but didn’t include Judy and Rich, nor the other conservative Republicans running with them.

Curious! Well, the explanation arrived in the mail as a message from AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham and LD23 Republican Chairman Jim O’Connor. That other “official-looking” mailing was not authorized by the AZGOP. That other “official-looking” mailing was “in violation of Arizona Revised Statutes 16.925 ‘Deceptive Mailings.’”

Most importantly, “the use of the logo on that mailer was intended to mislead you and in turn affect the outcome of your competitive precinct race.”

By the way, the people on that deceptive mailing are also listed on another card we received in the mail, from “Citizens for a Working America.” A little research indicated that this is a political action committee based in Alexandria, Virginia. Now, why is a PAC in Alexandria, VA (just outside D.C.) meddling in Golden Eagle precinct, and why are they working against people like Judy and Rich, whom we know to be good, honest conservatives? It sure sounds fishy to us.

When you’re voting in Golden Eagle precinct, don’t fall for deception or meddling from D.C. Vote for Judy and Rich Rutkowski and their honest and truly conservative colleagues: Ron Smith, William Bovinette, Clancy Hellige, Roger Velez, Terri Huffman, Charlene Dill, Laurence Schmit, Effie Gross and Evelyn Munn.
