Decoration rules meant to avoid political divisiveness
OPINION – The Fountain Hills Community Center intentionally doesn't refer to the trees in the Community Center Holiday Display as “Christmas” trees since there are many holidays being celebrated during this time of year. I'm sure the whole idea of the displays is to be inclusive and welcoming to the whole community.
The Republican Club is obviously celebrating Veterans with their tree. They wish to top their tree with the Commander in Chief, but he's not a veteran and is also a very divisive person. If the FHRC were serious about honoring veterans, they could add a star on top of their tree or an emblem for the Armed Forces, which includes all of our military branches.
