Defeating failure

The games are afoot. Elections are coming and it’ll get weird out there, or should I say weirder.

We’ll be inundated with all sorts of verbiage, excuses, lies and personal attacks. We’ll not be taken seriously, but for granted. Politicians expect we’ll remain gullible (easily duped). They’ll beg for money. I call the mid-term elections regular season games. The championship game comes in two years.

What’s getting quite troubling is how campaigns go about marginalizing and twisting the honest meaning of failure and success. For example, how can one group believe being unemployed is liberating and deserved? While another group thinks unemployment is unproductive and oppressive.

Which is true? I sometimes feel like I’m caught in a “no man’s land” and by that I mean “the dumping ground for human debris (us) between Fiefdoms” (Republicans and Democrats).

Do you believe that America has fallen on hard times? Aren’t our government’s failures legion? Like, the economy, foreign policy, domestic liberty, judicial integrity, freedom of religion (1st Amendment), right to bear arms (2nd Amendment) the right to be secure in their persons, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures (4th Amendment), and the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively or to the people (10th Amendment).

Sophocles said, “All men make mistakes, but a good man yields when he knows his course is wrong, and repairs the evil.” When do our politicians yield? Hasn’t America’s course been filled with mistakes?

Why do we continue to support our government’s failures? Without corrections, how do we survive?

Our government has built a burdensome wall of failure around us. Voters, take down that wall!

It’s time to ask, are we good men or not?
