He will present an analysis of the 2018 midterm election, its successes and proposed strategies for big wins in 2020. Slugocki is in his second term as county chair.
When first elected, he was the youngest county chair ever elected. A 2007 graduate of ASU with a Bachelor's Degree in political science from the School of Politics and Global Studies, Slugocki has many years of experience in political activism.
He was a member of Young Democrats at ASU and worked to improve student life and community involvement through local projects. He has been on the Maricopa County Democratic Party board since 2007 and was elected chair in 2015. Under his leadership, Democrats won important countywide elections in 2016, including the positions of Maricopa County Sheriff (Paul Penzone) and County Recorder (Adrian Fontes).
In the 2018 midterm elections, under Slugocki's leadership, Democrats were successful in a number of contested races including U.S. Senator, Secretary of State and Education Secretary.
He is a dynamic speaker and sure to motivate people and encourage participation in the electoral process.
In addition to working full time and leading county Democrats, Slugocki found time to get married and become a first time father.
All are welcome at FHDC meetings. While the club will be on hiatus until September after this meeting, there will be monthly happy hours in June, July and August, and details will be announced when available.
