The Fountain Hills Democratic Club has a full agenda for its meeting on Thursday, April 11. The group gathers at 6 p.m. at the Community Center.
Guest speaker will be Jose Patiño, who is the very dynamic Advocacy and Policy Director for Alienta, a community organization that advocates for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), a program that allows undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to not be deported. Jose will discuss the status of the DACA program, reshaping the image of who immigrants are in today’s society, and giving them a voice.
The meeting will begin following a social time from 6 to 6:30 p.m. A raffle for two door prizes will be held, and membership dues of $20 for 2019 will be collected.
