Dennis Wilson

Posted

On April 20, 2019, the Town of Fountain Hills lost one of its most colorful residents, Dennis Wilson, who lost his battle with an unknown type of cancer that was stage 4 before it was discovered.

Dennis was the loving husband of Linda (Bailey) Wilson of 22 years. He also leaves behind two sons from previous marriages; two sisters, Delores (Wilson) Guyer and Barbara (Wilson) Wyrick and his sister-in-law, Betty Wilson along with grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his Mother, Ruth (Duvall) Wilson; his sister, Sharon (Wilson) Godfrey and his older brother Robert Wilson, who was like a Father to him.

Dennis had a wonderful love of music and played guitar and sang. He was also a photographer and was frequently sighted around Fountain Hills with his camera slung over his shoulder with one or more dogs on leash.

Dennis had many friends from the Dog Park, and from his jobs at The Hills Pizzeria, Target, and Fort McDowell Casino.

He worked and volunteered with the local school district, working the chain gang for football and taking photos for various sports.

He also volunteered for a homeless organization in Mesa while his health would allow.

A memorial service is scheduled at Messinger Mortuary at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Extended Hands Food Bank in Fountain Hills.
