Pastor Larry Webster of Desert Mountain Church recently launched a men’s group for Bible study.
The group, known as Mountain Men, meets every Monday at 6:30 p.m. at 21731 E. Thirsty Earth Trail in Fort McDowell, according to a flyer. Webster said he wants the group to not just be a place to study the Bible, but for men to come together and be open about any struggles they might have with addiction, depression or other challenges in their life.
“I think a lot of men suffer in secret and suffer in silence with things they are battling in life. We want to create a space and a place where men can come and feel free to be themselves and share whatever’s going on in life,” Webster said. “I tell people that there’s no judgment for anything people are battling with. I’ve personally been down a lot of roads in my life and faced a lot of challenges, so we want people to be able to come and express their lives and their situations in any way they feel comfortable.”
