Development

In the Feb. 3 Times, Bart Shea of Shea Connelly Development was represented as saying that development would begin in July on the south side of the Avenue of the Fountains. It was represented that, “40,000 square feet of retail space will be developed on the ground level with 112 apartments above that.”

This could be true but not the entire truth. The developer's intentions have been represented to myself and others as planning for commercial on the ground level and four four-story (height variation still needing approval) apartment buildings with 400 apartments and 500 parking spots.

The 112 apartments might just represent a fraction of the total apartments planned and they may be above the retail space. However, this might just be a half truth. Planning and Zoning Commission and the Department of Planning and Zoning have not made recommendations to Council at the time of writing this letter.

The traffic numbers and population density potential of 40,000 square feet of retail plus 400 apartments (one, two and three bedrooms) approaching this secondary street (Ave. of the Fountains) still needs to be analyzed, discussed and open for public comments.

Times newspaper, will you be investigating? Town residents need to be told the truth, because a half truth is a whole lie.
