Councilwoman Ginny Dickey has announced she will not be seeking another term on the Town Council. Dickey made the announcement in an email message to The Times Wednesday morning.
"I have decided not to run for a third council term," Dickey said. "There will be lots of time for reminiscing and projections as we all move together through the rest of 2014, but for now I will say it has been a privilege to serve our beautiful community and look forward to my next adventures with gratitude."
Dickey served two four-year terms on the council beginning in 2006. She also was on the School Board prior to running for council.

Of the four incumbents with seats expiring on the council this year, only Mayor Linda Kavanagh has committed to the race. Dickey and Councilman Tait Elkie have both decided not to run, while Councilman Henry Leger was still undecided when last asked.
As of Wednesday morning there are five potential candidates for Town Council: Lina Bellenir, Arnold Belzil, Nick DePorter, Loraine Jackson and Alan Magazine. Bellenir, DePorter and Magazine have official committees and are actively seeking nominating signatures, while Belzil and Jackson have yet to form campaign committees.
At this time there is no one stepping forward to challenge Kavanagh.
