How many of us had a wager with ourselves that very soon our newly surfaced streets would become a target for some outfit to dig holes in the streets?
For many months we had to dodge around cones and street lane closures anxiously awaiting the completion date and the pleasant feeling of smooth passage on our new street surfaces. I don't remember ever being able to drive the length of Saguaro Boulevard as the culvert job north of Grande started immediately.
Now, concrete vaults are being buried north of Palisades on Saguaro.

The whole reason for this, reminder, is that city code requires (or did at one time) that the company doing the digging is responsible to restore the street surface to its original state, and I believe that should include future repairs if an indentation should occur.
We must hold our city staff’s feet to the fire to assure our investment is not sacrificed. I am always amazed that the hole diggers were not anticipated prior to a street repair job.
