Jones started out his career with a Master of Fine Arts in classical printmaking and for many years taught classes in printmaking, drawing and design. He left teaching to open the Peter Jones Studios and Gallery, which provided working studios, facilities and galleries for Chicago artists.
In 2009 after 25 years with the gallery Pete retired to a snowbird existence between Arizona and Southwest Michigan. He now works with digital printmaking and creating 3-D virtual reality environments.
