About 30 years ago I started volunteering at the Fountain Hills (then Community) Theater. I served (and bought the supplies for) refreshments, put programs together, worked on mailings and served on the Board. I’ve worked on sets and costumes. I tried to be a help whereever was needed.
Unfortunately, due to health and life circumstances, I had to stop my volunteering but my love for our theater has never waned. I’ve staunchly supported it the best that I could and have tried to get other Fountain Hills residents to do the same.
I was happy for Val Stasik when I heard she was retiring. Val put more than her heart and soul into the theater, as have the now defunct office staff, Patty Torrilhon and Todd Carrie.

I’m very disappointed in what I’ve been hearing and reading as to the current board’s decisions. I have the feeling that they don’t “get” Fountain Hills. This Town is special and unique and so was our theater. I just hope this board tries to understand that and reconsiders the drastic changes it has made before irreparable damage is done.
