Disc golf

Fountain Park is a great place to visit and take casual walks around it. Problem is, the town has installed a chain-link catcher for those people who love to throw their plastic discs through the air to see if they can get one into the basket.

That’s all well and good, but did anyone ever consider the fact that these discs are traveling in excess of 30 miles an hour when thrown and people are now at risk of being hit by one, as I almost was a week ago while taking a walk around the lake?

There can be up to 30 or more people doing this all around the lake, making it a real nuisance for the very elderly or those who have difficulty just walking. They need, for safety reasons, to allow this crazy act to happen on certain days only, not whenever these people feel like doing it.

Let’s give some consideration to those who have as much right to be at the lake as those that throw these plastic discs around, playing their little game. Who ever thought this up, for sure, never considered the safety or well-being of others.
