Discovery Center in Fountain Hills initiates fundraising drive

Push on through March to meet goal

The International Dark Sky Discovery Center (IDSDC) has announced a new capital campaign to complete its fundraising goal of $28 million by March 2025, in order to avoid delays in construction to complete the new STEM facility in Fountain Hills.

“We cannot do this without you,” IDSDC President Joe Bill said in an official statement. “We need your help. A steady stream of donations from now through March are needed to fully furnish major components like the planetarium and exhibit hall.”

The statement describes the benefits of the project. This STEM science facility will be at the forefront of a global movement to preserve dark skies and inspire the next generation to protect nocturnal wildlife, bird migration and human health. It will also bolster the reputation of Arizona as a science state and support the state and local economy.
