What’s happening in our town is a total disgrace. I have never been more ashamed of where my husband and I live than at this moment.
The FHUSD fires a dedicated teacher after a rigged mock investigation.
A teacher is hired claiming to have a silver medal and a Ph.D. She apparently possesses neither. The board keeps her on the job claiming the investigation is ongoing.

The HR director apparently does not have a degree and possibly illegally rehired back after retiring. That person is now collecting a pension and full salary. That is called “double dipping.”
I want to ask those current and former leaders i.e. Mayors Miles, Schlum, Councilmembers Dickey and Leger, Councilmembers-elect DePorter and Magazine and so many others, “Did any of you know this before you placed your names on big fancy ads in support of the override?”
Mayor Schlum, your wife posted on Facebook the info regarding the school’s HR director, she also posted the following:
“Admin costs were ranked ‘extremely high’ ($925 per student) by The Arizona Republic. Just a little over half the budget goes to instructional costs of our students. Not only is admin collecting top salaries in a small district, they also get ‘performance pay’ (bonuses)! When I asked the School Board why, I was told that it’s in the language of their contracts and goals were met. How? Enrollment is down, high turnover rate of staff (about 15 left at the end of the year at the HS alone), and now in light of the termination of Ms. Aister we are faced with pending lawsuits.”
I read the formal audit of this School District and it is problematic for any reasonable person to defend their behavior and approve this override. Also, please stop using the “children” as your reasons to defend any of this.
