Disgusted

Having served on a school board in northern Illinois with an enrollment of about 1,000 students at different school locations, our superintendent who had been with us for over 17 years ran a tight ship as he was not only the superintendent but he also doubled as a principal at one school.

We had a similar incident at our school regarding a teacher stopping a fight on the school grounds.

Since neither the School Board nor the parent complaining observed the situation, all information was considered second hand as neither observed the incident.

It is inconceivable to me that our current School Board has taken this long to resolve an issue that should have been resolved last May. The teacher should not have been terminated.

Secondly, seeing classrooms being used for storage areas would lead me to believe that with the current drop in enrollment, we will be closing another school within 10 years. These two incidents alone give me little faith in our current School Board.

I recommend new members be added to the school board. Edith Stock, Robert Gomez and Judith Rutkowski are my recommendations for new School Board members.
