With respect to your article in the Dec. 30 edition, “Town Hall: Looking back at 2015,” I would like to set the record straight on your comments about the dog park.
As President of ADOG , adogfh.org, we are a charitable organization dedicated to making things better for our canine friends. Since we run on membership fees and donations from the public, I think it is important to note in your story that the town advised us that there was no money available to deal with both the noise problems and the invasion of the poisonous Colorado green toad, which can kill a dog just from contact.

Both of these projects were funded entirely by ADOG. In addition, this past September, on a hot Saturday morning, more than 30 of our members turned out to volunteer the labor necessary to complete the project.
As we move into 2016 ADOG is in discussions with the Town to determine how we can best assist, since there are no funds at all that are designated for improving the condition of the dog park. This former pristine asset of the town has been left to deteriorate to the point that many small dog owners will no longer use the park due to the burrs on the weeds that have replaced the grass.
ADOG has dedicated 2016 to saving the dog park. The time to act is now, while we still have a chance to restore this amazing park back to the way it was before financial support was reduced by the Town. Please visit our website at adogfh.org and join with us to help make the park great again.
