We couldn’t agree more with the writer about dogs doing their thing in all the wrong places.
It is disgusting to drive down the Avenue of the Fountains and frequently see dogs using the grassy area in front of shops and restaurants for a toilet. What do these owners od dog walkers use for brains? Can’t they find a more appropriate area than the grassy area used for many of our public events?

Restrictions in the main Fountain Lake area are obviously impractical and there is more contamination there from the hundreds of birds than is contributed by dogs. In both cases, the resulting deposits are not just unsightly, but disease-breeding and fly attracting. Maybe the park grass turns yellow for a reason other than lack of good water, appropriate fertilizers and seasonal attention?
So much for my rant, and as concession to dog owners, how about we consider giving them a convenient location dedicated to, and maybe even restricted to, fecal functions for pets. I’m suggesting that generous green patch of unused parkway directly in front of the post office, west of the stop sign and lane marking fiasco.
I can’t recall ever seeing anyone with a dog in that nice big grassy area and the general public has no good reason to spend time there. Just what the dogs need, a personal privy with shade yet.
