Posted

Donald Glen Ribail, age 56, of Fountain Hills, left us on Nov. 7, 2014, after a long battle with heart disease and most recently cancer (Multiple Myeloma and Plasma Cell Leukemia). He is now in perfect peace with our Lord in Heaven.

He is survived by his wife, Toni; his sons, Cameron and Brandon; his mother, Melba; and his siblings, Debbie Leitner, Laurie Byers, David Ribail and Diana Gambee. He is preceded in death by his father, Don.

Donald Glen Ribail was born on Oct. 8, 1958 in Yakima, Wash., to parents Norman Don and Melba Jean Ribail. He married his wife Toni in 1987 and the couple had two wonderful children together. Don was a great husband and a loving father.

Don graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1978. Don had a variety of careers throughout his life, and was a master of everything he did. He started working on a local farm for the Cartasegnias in Milwaukie as a young kid, worked for Kienow’s grocery store in produce, and as a CNC machinist.

In 1991, he moved to Boise, Idaho following his wife’s career. He worked as a trainer/team leader at H-P and assisted the engineers in the development of products, processes and tooling.

In 1996, he moved to Fountain Hills, again following his wife’s career. Don then spent the next two years being Mr. Mom, taking care of their first child. He then went to work for Bashas’ in produce once again.

In 2004, we almost lost Don, as he had a partial aortic dissection. We then learned of a very rare heart condition he had, which then put him out on disability. Since then, his time has been spent with his family, living every day to its fullest and empowering all those around him with his immense amount of knowledge. We thank God for those extra years with this very special man.

Don loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved the beach and mountains. He also enjoyed restoring cars, his passion from a teenager with his dad. Many of us will remember the countless hours we spent working on car projects together. In our hearts we hold so many memories. He is loved by many and will always be remembered and missed for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, 11 a.m., at Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills with a reception to follow outside on the covered fellowship patio. Pastor Chad Pace will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Don’s life.

The family would like to thank our wonderful family and friends for all their support and kind gestures. We are truly blessed. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to one of the following. To Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for all the financial support they provided our family during treatment; to Hospice of the Valley for their wonderful support during Don’s final days with us; or to Christ’s Church of Fountain Hills for their great children’s programs and for always being there.

There will also be another celebration of life held in Oregon in March for all our family and friends who cannot be here in Arizona at this time.
