Just as construction fencing surrounding the exterior of the building is coming down, the International Dark Sky Discovery Center (IDSDC) announced $7 million in new funding for the project in Fountain Hills.
IDSCD President Joe Bill announced that the Summer Solstice matching funds program was a success, but that actually reflects the smallest amount recently raised.
“The first fantastic news is that the $140,000 Summer Solstice Matching program was exceeded with $158,500,” Bill said in a monthly newsletter. “That will effectively add $298,500. Sincere thanks to all who participated in this program.”
