I totally agree with the letter from Denise Ham regarding the development of Morningstar in the downtown area. The downtown area is not the place for a nursing facility, especially with the approval being given to a half-planned project.
I believe exceptions were made for this project in size of parking spaces, etc. Is bare dirt so awful-looking that we must fill it with anything? It appears that the attitude of the town is generally to fill up vacant land and change zoning in order to do so.
Why do we want our beautiful town land filled to capacity with whatever is proposed? I am aware of the Hemingway project behind McDonald’s and that is a first class project designed to be impressive, well-planned and in an area that fits its use.

However, I do not know how the citizens can have a voice in the downtown project, as it is the decision of the board to approve or not.
I thought it had already been approved. If not, I implore those in authority to give this project ample thought and consider the wishes of the average citizen who lives in and loves Fountain Hills.
Thank you, Denise, for your letter. I hope that more residents of Fountain Hills will consider the implications of this half-proposed project.
