Meg Lambert, BSN, RN, CRRN, CNRN, and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Program Coordinator at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, will speak at the Fountain Hills Community Center on March 7, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. She will discuss the process and considerations involved in determining if a Parkinson's patient is an appropriate candidate for DBS, what the patient can expect and the process and treatment pre and post-surgery to assure the optimal outcome, adjustment and utilization of the DBS device.
Lambert is a registered nurse with specialized training in functional rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation. She contributes and collaborates with others as program developer, patient liaison, and clinical and educational coordinator for patients, physicians, and other team members. She also serves as the research coordinator for the DBS program.

At Barrow Neurological Institute for 10 years, Lambert worked as the admissions coordinator for inpatient neuro-rehabilitation before being selected as the first DBS Program Coordinator. She is trained in DBS device programming, has been certified in UPDRS motor testing by the Movement Disorder Society, and sits on the board of directors for the Parkinson’s Network of AZ. Meg is co-author on several DBS scientific publications.
The daughter of a gentleman with Parkinson disease, Meg has a personal as well as professional interest in helping to improve the quality of life of patients undergoing DBS surgery.
This program is being organized by the Parkinson & Movement Disorder Alliance (PMDAlliance), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing people affected by Parkinson’s the chance to learn, live more fully, and connect with community.
