Dr. Susan J. Fuls, age 55 of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away suddenly on Aug. 8, 2016. She was born March 30, 1961 in Morristown, N.J., and grew up in Bernardsville, N.J., where she graduated from Bernards High in 1979.
She attended Upsala College in East Orange N.J. and received her BA Degree in Psychology and Sociology in 1983. She went on to attend Adelphi University where she obtained an MA degree in Applied Psychology in 1986, and later attended Temple University where she obtained her Ph.D. in 1994.
She obtained her New Jersey License for Psychology in 1997. She maintained a private practice from 2000 through 2014 specializing in family therapy, trauma, anxiety disorders, and extreme personality disorders. She had extensive experience in psychiatric screening at several Medical Centers as well as Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Centers.
She also taught Psychology classes at Gwyned Mercy College in Blue Bell, Pa, Union County Community College in Cranford N.J., Kean University in Union, N.J., and Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison, N.J.
Susan’s greatest pride and joy in life was her loving daughter, Gianna Marie Fuls-Hopkins.
She is also survived by her parents, Dr. Ellis N. Fuls and Carol Joan Fuls of Fountain Hills; sisters, Ellen M. Coomaraswamy of Wilton, Conn. and Janice L. Fuls of Fountain Hills, and a brother Andrew N. Fuls of Bernardsville, N.J.
She enjoyed gardening, tennis, and community service to the elderly and needy. A memorial service is being planned in Arizona at a later date.
