A Fountain Hills woman described by Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies as elderly was unhurt when she drove her car into the railing on the sidewalk in front of the Chase Bank branch on Avenue of the Fountains Monday morning.
Deputies say the woman apparently hit the accelerator instead of the brake and jumped over the curb from the parking lot.
The collision tore down part of a railing along the sidewalk and caused damage to the front of the vehicle and driver's side door panels.
