Local law enforcement agencies are teaming up to give the public an opportunity to prevent medicine abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
There are three “drug take back” locations in the area on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Agencies involved are the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort McDowell Police Department.

Drug "take back" day on Saturday
Posted
Local law enforcement agencies are teaming up to give the public an opportunity to prevent medicine abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
There are three “drug take back” locations in the area on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Agencies involved are the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort McDowell Police Department.
The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.
The three prescription take back locations are:
*Fountain Hills Town Hall – 16705 E. Avenue of the Fountains.
*Rio Verde Fire Station – 25608 N. Forest Road.
*Fort McDowell Public Safety Building – 10755 N. Fort McDowell Road.
The Fountain Hills Coalition is supporting this effort as well.
If residents miss the drop-off time Saturday, there is a drug drop-off box inside Fountain Hills Town Hall that is available during regular office hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, throughout the year.
The box is located adjacent to the Sheriff’s Office location on the ground floor of Town Hall.
