I recently saw that our own Representative, David Schweikert, signed on to co-sponsor the Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act.

It’s important that our elected leaders get credit where credit is due. This bill will enable seniors to access more tools and more opportunities to get screened for a wide variety of cancers. Right now, Medicare only covers preventative screenings for a select few cancers. This bill would change that, and ultimately could help save lives.

This is not a political issue, or a partisan one. It is a human one, and Congressman Schweikert is doing the right thing for the seniors of this district. Let’s hope the rest of our Congressional delegation follows suit and helps get it to the President’s desk.
