The final round of updates have been provided by Maricopa County Election officials and it appears the mayor's seat in Fountain Hills, as well as at least two council seats, will be determined by runoff in the November election.
Election results are not official until canvassed, and it is expected the Fountain Hills Town Council will do so in the coming weeks. While the Times Independent is reaching out for clarification concerning runoff guidelines, it appears Ginny Dickey and Gerry Friedel will square off this fall for the position of mayor. It appears Gayle Earle passed the threshold to claim one of three council seats by a handful of votes, with the remaining two to be determined by runoff. The runoff is expected to include the next four highest vote counts, which are held by Peggy McMahon, Rick Watts, Mathew Corrigan and Clayton Corey.
