Eddie L. Wright, 79, of Fountain Hills, passed away on July 1, 2016. He was born in East Palestine, Ohio.
Widowed in 2009 after 47 years of marriage to Rose, he is survived by sons, Garrett and Elgin; siblings, Isaac Wright and Geraldine Pittman, and grandson, Dontae.
Eddie was an outstanding husband, father and friend to many; he was the very definition of integrity. After lettering in football and acquiring his initial degree in industrial management from the University of Toledo, Eddie gave four years of service to the U.S. Army.
Captain Wright spent the next 30 years as general plant manager for Buick/Olds/Cadillac engine group in Flint, Mich. retiring in 1994. An avid western enthusiast, it was a natural fit to relocate to Arizona after retiring to pursue his interests in the southwestern lifestyle.
Between fishing, golf, activities with the Scottsdale Lion’s club, and even semi-retirement as a Realtor with Century 21 (The Anderson Group of Fountain Hills), Eddie even found time to participate with the Buffalo Soldiers 10th Cavalry Association based in Tucson.
Eddie’s list of accomplishments was tremendous, his outlook on life unmatched and the number of lives he touched too numerous to count. He is loved will be missed by anyone that was fortunate enough to have met him.
