Education

I am supporting Daria Lohman for the Arizona State Senate as she is pro K-12 public education.

Does anyone care that Arizona ranks the lowest in teacher pay and near the lowest in ADA in the United States? Did we not see and hear our teachers, parents and community with the Red for ED walkout? Daria will fight to restore and increase funding for our public schools, students and teachers.

We need to retain a competitive educator workforce and not continue to lose our teachers to neighboring states and to the corporate world. Last spring, our governor at one moment couldn’t find any money in the budget for our public schools and then, within a week, a one-time funding was granted. We need an ongoing revenue source for public education.

With a state that is prospering, there is no excuse for our students and teachers to be placed at the bottom of the priority list. Daria will ask for a full accounting of how our tax dollars are being spent on private and charter school education. Education should not be a political issue. We need to assure that our students are educated at the highest level and ready to march into the next decades.

Vote for Daria Lohman. She is our chance to change Arizona education in the future.
