Edward of Sun City, Arizona passed away peacefully in hospice on September 27, 2023 following a brief illness. He was born in Joplin, Missouri. He is preceded in death by parents Ed and Ruth Gordon, grandson Edward Gordon III and niece Lea Ann Hough. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley, son Edward Gordon, Jr., sister Loretta Lynch, niece Lisa Jolley and cousin Roberta Crabb. Ed resided in the Denver, Colorado area for over 50 years until his move to Sun City in 2017. Ed was an avid racing fan and raced with his son Ed and grandson Eddie well into his 60’s. He was a loving, happy and extremely funny man. Ed served in the Army Reserve from 1956 to 1962. Ed worked in the trucking industry for over 50 years, having been the owner of High Plains transportation prior to his retirement. Ed will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held in Denver at a later date, followed by interment in Iowa.
