Effort to refer apartment plan in Fountain Hills

ROT files to circulate petitions

The Fountain Hills political committee known as Reclaim Our Town (ROT) has filed paperwork to circulate petitions to refer a council zoning action to voters during an upcoming election.

On Jan. 17, the council approved a request for a PAD zoning at Four Peaks Plaza (Target shopping center) to convert a portion of the plaza into apartment, along with another PAD request that will allow changes to signage for the plaza.

On Jan. 23, ROT Chairman Crystal Cavanaugh and group Treasurer Larry Meyers filed with the Town Clerk’s Office to circulate the petitions to refer both actions. To get the question on the ballot, ROT needs to collect 1,084 valid signatures. The deadline to turn in the petitions is Friday, Feb. 16, (30 days from the council action).
