I do not see any data supporting the “huge tax increase” claims. There was no big tax bump after the last bond passed, and all the data shows many Fountain Hills residents will have an additional bump of approximately $120 a year if we pass this bond. I do not think that is a huge burden to pay in support of our children in the Fountain Hills schools.
I think those signs suggesting our schools are failing are also based on unsupported myths.
Our public schools have managed to maintain high standards of achievement during some very trying times. Thanks to our incredible teachers and school staff, FHUSD has had A+ ratinging on some schools and honors on others.

If the anti-bond people are concerned about where their tax money goes, they should be asking for an accounting on the voucher system. Home-schooled children are not required to get tested as our public school children are, so there is no data on what or how well those children are doing in comparison to public schools. And there is little oversight on what and how the money is spent. A whale-watching trip for the family and bouncy houses are not things I feel are valid expenses for my taxes.
The money used for public schools is part of a public record, so I feel quite confident the money provided by the new bond will be used appropriately and in support of the children of Fountain Hills.
