The incumbents ruled the day for the Sanitary District election. Tom Reski received 3,726 votes (34 percent) and Gregg Dudash had 3,600 votes (33 percent).

Reski said he appreciates the support he received from the voters.

“This FHSD election was interesting, with the local interest from members of the various political organizations and civic groups to the local chamber of commerce,” Reski said. “It was a combination of all these meetings and discussions that will allow my participation on the board for another term.

“At the end of this next term it will have been my pleasure to have served Fountain Hills residents and Maricopa County for over 19 years as your elected representative.

“With respect to going forward, Dana Trompke, our district manager, I and the other board members have been discussing the needs of the district with respect to our relationship and objectives with the town management and residents.”

Challenger Scott Sommer received 2,165 votes (20 percent), and Tony Finocchio had 1,571 (14 percent).

These are unofficial results from Tuesday’s election. Final results will require certification by the districts. The Sanitary District is scheduled to canvass the election results at its regular meeting tonight, Nov. 15.
