Residents who are on the Maricopa County Permanent Early Voter (PEV) list should have received their ballot in the mail late last week for the Aug. 30 primary election. The county was scheduled to put the ballots in the mail on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Those registered voters who are not on the PEV, but still wish to cast their vote early may request a ballot by mail up until Friday, Aug. 19. Contact the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office by phone at 602-506-1511 or online at recorder.maricopa.gov/elections to request an early ballot.

Fountain Hills voters may cast an early ballot in person by going to Town Hall during business hours, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The last day to cast an early ballot at Town Hall is Thursday, Aug. 25.

The county is requesting that anyone returning their early ballot by mail to have it in the mailbox by Thursday, Aug. 25, to assure that it is counted on time. Don’t forget to sign the envelope before putting the ballot in the box.

Early ballots not mailed may be dropped off at any polling site on Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 30, or at Town Hall through Aug. 25.

Anyone who requests an early ballot who is registered without a party affiliation will need to specify which party ballot they wish to cast, or they may ask for a ballot with only the candidates for Town Council, which is a non-partisan race. Those voting in person will be asked the same question.

For those who prefer to vote the old fashioned way at the polls on Election Day, there will be five voting precincts open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Those sites include the Fountain Hills Precinct #232, Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Drive.

Four Peaks Precinct #233, The Fountains, United Methodist Church, 15300 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.

Golden Eagle Precinct #257, Fountain Hills Unified School District Office, 16000 E. Palisades Blvd.

Palisades Precinct #458, Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.

Saguaro Precinct #544, First Baptist Church, 10215 N. Saguaro Blvd.

Registered voters should receive a sample ballot with their voting precinct indicated. The information can also be found at the recorder’s website.

Voters for this election must have been registered by Monday, Aug. 1. Questions about registration status or acceptable identification may be directed to the county Elections Department, 602-506-1511, or the Town Clerk’s Office 480-816-5100, or the recorder’s website.
