Election Day is Nov. 8

Posted

We are in the home stretch of the 2016 General Election campaign; it is now less than a week until Election Day.

The early voting polling station operating in Town Hall will close at the end of business hours tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 3.

The polling site will be open until 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, and from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Also, voters who received their early ballot in the mail and have not yet gotten it back in the mail may turn their ballot in at the Town Hall site or any polling location open on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Election officials were recommending that early mail ballots be back in the mail by Tuesday, Nov. 1, to assure that they got back to the county by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Don’t forget to sign the outside of the envelope before returning your early ballot.

Precinct sites

The Election Day polling sites in Fountain Hills will be the same as they were for the primary election this past August.

Those sites include the Fountain Hills Precinct #232, Fountain Hills Community Center, 13001 N. La Montana Drive.

Four Peaks Precinct #233, The Fountains, United Methodist Church, 15300 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.

Golden Eagle Precinct #257, Fountain Hills Unified School District Office, 16000 E. Palisades Blvd.

Palisades Precinct #458, Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church, 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.

Saguaro Precinct #544, First Baptist Church, 10215 N. Saguaro Blvd.

Voters are urged to make sure of their correct polling site before heading out to vote on Election Day. Registered voters will receive a sample ballot in the mail that will indicate the precinct name and location with the address. This may not be the same location where you have voted in previous elections.

It is important to go to the right polling site to cast a ballot. Poll workers will allow you to cast a provisional ballot if you are uncertain, but if you are at the wrong location it will likely not be counted.

If still uncertain of the polling site visit the Maricopa County Recorder website at recorder.maricopa.gov/elections.

On Election Day polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

ID needed

Those casting a ballot on Election Day will need their identification. A single photo ID card issued by the government, i.e.: Arizona driver license or federally issued photo ID.

Two forms of ID without a photo are required. These should bear the name and address of the voter. This might include utility bills (dated within the past 90 days), bank statement, vehicle registration or any material marked “official election material” sent to the voter.
