Elementary ‘Achievers’ learn about finance, related topics

LeBron James and interest-bearing loans were only two of the many topics brought up May 12 at McDowell Mountain Elementary School’s Junior Achievement Day.

That’s when experts on a variety of subjects volunteered at the school, talking about areas of focus for Junior Achievement, a national organization devoted to teaching young people about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

One presenter spoke about how many types of businesses some moguls and even smaller-scale entrepreneurs can end up in, using LeBron James and other pro athletes as examples.
