Emily Lucille Agostinelli

Emily Lucille Agostinelli passed away on Sept. 6, 2014, at the age of 95 in Scottsdale. Emily was born in Midland, Mich. on Dec. 17, 1918, the fifth child of nine to Anna and Ignacio (changed to James) Balcirak.

She attended Midland High School. She worked as a seamstress in a factory in Detroit and met Joseph Agostinelli in 1944. They married and they were together for 53 glorious years. They had five children in Midland, and then retired to Scottsdale in 1972, and moved to Fountain Hills in 1975.

Emily was a great mother and will be missed. Joseph and Emily celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together. Joseph passed in 1997. Emily is survived by three of her sisters, Eleanor Wejrowski, Lillian Wejrowski, and Ann Hanson; four of her daughters, Sandy Parke, Linda Bell, Joan Agostinelli (and husband, David Malin), Gina Agostinelli; son, Nicholas Agostinelli (and wife, Molly Agostinelli); six grandchildren -- Austin Bell, Reed Chappell, Megin Agostinelli Dressel, Joe Agostinelli, Michael Malin, and Richard Malin; and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank and Steve Balcirak, Helen Modjeski, Frances Bartos, and Rose Bartos.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Emily’s life will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. at St Patrick's Catholic Church, 10815. N. 84th Street, Scottsdale.

Immediately following the church service will be a buffet luncheon at Linda Bell’s home.

The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Scottsdale Life for their compassionate care provided to Emily during her residence there, as well as for their support to her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Patrick’s Social Justice Ministry or St. Patrick’s Senior Living Ministry.
