Emma Christina Alvarado

Emma Christina Alvarado was born on Sept. 18, 1919. She had three sisters, Juanita, Ramona and Ella. She married Joe Marin Ortega on March 28, 1938 in Granada, Colo. They had six children; Nellie, Raymond, Hector, Richard, Joseph and Stella. They had 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild due to be born in March.

Emma worked in the food industry for many years. Emma’s faith and family always came first; she adored her family and always made them her top priority.

She was an excellent cook and made sure no one left hungry when they came to visit. She also was very giving of her time and energy to her elderly neighbors, who needed help with chores and personal care.

She was so loved by everyone who knew her. The love of her life was her husband Joe, who placed her on a pedestal with love and attention to the very end of his life. Emma will be missed dearly.
